Kirsty Coleman, born October 1968 , is a self taught northern artist and began her working career as a textile designer. Working mainly for the American market for over 20 years then having her own business along with her husband also worked in Europe and the Far East.

She began experimenting with Clay a number of years ago, realising that three dimensional form was a new way to bring ideas to life. Often visiting studios and participating in workshops and eventually having her own studio at home where she creates her stunning head studies.

After making and selling animals for a few years she has recently become interested in emotive expressions in human form and sense of identity. Combining raku clay with oxides and using various methods to create texture to bring sculptures to life. Always exploring new directions and developing new ideas to push this versatile medium.
