The Tall Coastal Vessel by ceramic artist Jon Bull is a refined exploration of form, texture and natural colour. Hand thrown and shaped with a gently tapering silhouette, the vessel has a quiet sculptural presence that feels both contemporary and timeless.
After developing several different Lava glazes of varying colours and surface qualities Jon cross blends them to get the result which you see. The glazes are a mixture of sprayed, dipped and painted glazes. They are built up and fired multiple times. Each piece is thoroughly planned specifically for the shape and size. Jon uses subtle blends to enhance the shape and form. All of Jon’s work is hand thrown, working on the wheel.
Jon Bull’s hand thrown techniques ensure each piece is unique, with natural variations that enhance its character and individuality.
