Seraphina by Michael James Talbot is a sculpture of elegance, poise and quiet transcendence. The elongated female form extends outward in a graceful gesture, creating a sense of lift, openness and gentle movement. The flowing vertical drapery contrasts with the expressive reach of the arms giving the figure both grounding and ethereal lightness. 

The work represents another interpretation of Persephone from Greek mythology, a figure associated with renewal, transition and the cycle nature of life. Through Seraphina, Talbot explores the more luminous aspect of the myth. Emergence, grace and the return to light. His deep knowledge of classical mythology informs the symbolism, while his contemporary sculptural language gives the piece a timeless, modern presence.

Cast using traditional hot cast bronze techniques, each sculpture in the edition is individually hand finished. The patina is applied by hand, creating rich tonal variation and surface depth so that every piece carries its own unique character.
