Large Lying Hare by David Meredith is a beautiful composed study in calm alertness and elegant line. The hare is shown stretched out in a relaxed pose, yet the lifted head and upright ears suggest awareness of its surroundings. A moment of stillness that feels alive rather than passive. 

The elongated body creates a strong horizontal flow, while the smooth transitions between planes give the form a refined, contemporary character. Subtle modelling along the chest, shoulders and hunches conveys musculature without heaviness, allowing the sculpture to retain a sense of lightness and grace. 

Its low flowing silhouette makes it particularly suited to mantlepieces, console tables, or plinths where the length and form can be appreciated from multiple angles.
