Ayanna (Persephone Spring)- Table top size by Michael James Talbot is a sculpture of grace, poise and quiet strength. The elongated female form rises with fluid elegance, her gesture soft yet assured, evoking the mythic presence of Persephone, the Greek goddess whose story bridges the worlds of light and shadow, renewal and return. A symbol of spring and rebirth, this figure holds delicate flowers in her hands representing the upper world, growth, and emergence into light. 

Michael James Talbot draws deeply on his knowledge and inspiration from Greek mythology, embedding classical narrative with a contemporary sculptural language. Ayanna forms part of a conceptual pair inspired by Persephone’s dual existence between the underworld and earth above. The works can be collected as a complementary pair, reflecting the balance between these two realms, or appreciated individually as a powerful standalone sculptures. 

The sculpture’s tall, slender form is elevated by its black marble base adding contrast, stability and a refined gallery presence. 
Cast using traditional hot cast bronze techniques, each sculpture in the edition is individually hand finished. The patina is applied by hand creating subtle tonal variations and surface depth that make every piece unique.
