Poised contemplative and quietly powerful, Amara embodies the introspective aspect of Persephone, the queen of the underworld in Greek mythology. The elongated vertical form gives the sculpture a totemic presence as though the figure exists between realms, earth above ,underworld below.

The stillness of the pose contrasts with the emotional depth it carries. Persephone’s story is one of transition, duality and hidden strength moving between light and shadow. Talbot captures this dual nature not through dramatic gesture but through restraint, vertical line and subtle form. The result is a sculpture that feels timeless, symbolic and deeply atmospheric. 

The floor standing format enhances the sense of presence, making Amara feel like a guardian figure within a space. The bronze surface responds beautifully to light, reinforcing themes of emergence, concealment and transformation. 
The work forms a pair with Ayanna from the Persephone Collection, creating a powerful visual and narrative dialogue when displayed together. A smaller tabletop version is also available.
