Since leaving school at 16 with one O level in Art, Lyndsey has worked all her life in the creative world both as a designer ( for Denby pottery) A figurine painter for Royal Crown Derby and for many years as an illustrator (for childrens books and card companies) before concentrating on her own work as a proffessional wildlife artist that spanned over twenty years!! Lyndey travelled many times to Africa for her reference for her wildlife paintings.
How did the gallery come about ? Honestly by accident!!!
Lyndsey and her family where moving house to Buxton where she still lives and it was a large renovation project so short term she lost her studio space.
The sale of a large original of Lyndsey's work in 2009 sold at Christies Auctions in New York and allowed Lyndsey to open the gallery that gave her space to continue painting whilst work commenced on the house. The intention was to rebuild her studio at the new home and carry on painting and travelling to shows. The gallery has never been about Lyndseys work it just created a space to continue her painting.
.Over twenty years at the shows her contacts in the art world are vast from artists specializing in bronze Sculpture, Ceramics , Jewellery and other Art. Lyndsey invited them to show in her new space. "I want everyone else to see the gorgeouse works I get to see at the shows and this is a great way to exhibit them and make sales for the artists" Her excellent eye for quality, craftsmanship , Arts and Interiors proved a winner with her customers. In 2010 Lyndsey decided to take a break from her own painting whilst following her passion at the gallery.
2019 -Over the years of being inspired by a vast range of works and mediums entering the gallery she has picked up her brushes again. Her new paintings are in Oils, larger canvasses and more contemporary and produced in her studio at home (yes it finally got built!!). Most of this new work is exhibited at galleries around the UK so please contact her if you are intested in any and she can find if they are still available.
Lyndsey is putting some pieces in as canvass prints some hand embellished and limited to only 25. Her work is a mix of figurative and wildlife.
